Vessel Wellness/Systems Review
Second Captain’s Vessel Wellness Checks are a large part in any vessel’s maintenance. This service that we provide is essential in keeping your investment in a desirable condition. These are some of the duties that are included in our service.

Ensure that your vessel is secured properly in it’s slip.

Inspect mechanical rooms, check engine and generator fluids, pumps, and strainers.

We work with a number of Detailing/Cleaning experts that will assist you in properly maintaining your vessel. We will schedule and coordinate the detailing/cleaning to maintain your vessel. Meet Our Crew
Captain Jack
Jack Humphrey has lived boating for over 35 years. Second Captain, LLC, a Vessel Management and Training company, was the perfect fit for his passion, training and experiences. He graduated from Elon College with a business degree and is a licensed Coast Guard Captain. His role in Second Captain provides high level, experienced support for boaters of all levels.
Jack boating experience and training includes;

Maintains a Masters/OUPV 50 Ton Captain’s License.

Transported vessels up to 84’ from Miami, FL to New York for 25 years.

Provided vessel orientations and boat handling for new boaters for 20 years.

Performed Quality Control inspections for Yacht dealer’s inventory for 25 years.

Instructed boating classes for men, women and children.

Graduated from Elon College with a Business Management degree.
Jack had the privilege of growing up on Wrightsville Beach, NC. With that comes detailed local knowledge of the surrounding waterways. With all of his knowledge and his personality, Jack Humphrey is able to relate to all clients to provide a professional and enjoyable boating experience.
Captain Ross Fowle comes to Second Captain, LLC after 24 years in the United States Coast Guard. As an Officer in Charge, he was responsible for operating and maintaining boats ranging from 23’ to 110’ in ports on both coasts and in the Caribbean. He recently retired as a Master Chief in Ocean City, Maryland and is excited to return to North Carolina! Ross spent many years on the waters of North Carolina operating Coast Guard boats in Oregon Inlet, Morehead City and Wrightsville Beach. Ross’s 24 years of experience in boating safety, regulations, navigation rules and vessel management make him a great fit for Second Captain.
